'PET' bottles?

'PET' bottles?

Although all of the liquid products we stock are available in glass you can also choose PET bottles on some items - so what's with the plastic?

PET, or Polyethylene terephthalate, is a non-toxic, fully recyclable plastic that's grown in use in the last five years. As PET is a particularly strong material it's well suited to refilling and can be used multiple times without breaking down - we'd love it if you keep bringing your bottles back for us to sanitise and reuse!

Why not glass?

Don't get me wrong - we love our glass bottles. They're an elegant and endlessly recyclable option with serious planet friendly credentials but in some situations glass may not be the best option.

Bathrooms and showers: In a wet and slippery environment it's easy to drop or knock a bottle and nobody wants a shower full of glass shards while they're trying to rinse their hair.

Reduced mobility: If grip or stability are a factor then a less breakable and lighter container could be helpful.

Travel: Glass is a heavier material and not everyone wants to tote that around - if travel with glass is impractical for you then PET is a good compromise.

All of that convinced us to offer PET as well as glass so you can make the best choice for you - we don't want anyone to feel that zero waste is a difficult or dangerous option!
